Cultured dairy found at Costco last week

This new product I discovered last week in Costco is Epoca Cool Plus Original Flavor. It is priced at $9.79 /case. Each case contains 5*10 bottles.
As mentioned on the package, this cultured drink is made with 5 different live and active bacterial cultures and it is fat free/ gluten free. According to Epoca website,
"Our Probiotic and Cultured Dairy Beverages contain five live and active cultures; Lactobacillus casei, Bifidus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, STR. Thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus.
With these beneficial bacteria, our products can help to regulate human digestive system and keep immune system stronger.
And, added vitamin A, D, and C make the products more nutritious and boost energy for daily uses.
To keep our product healthy and maintain good quality of products, we use only US Grade A Non-Fat Milk along with good quality of ingredients. And, make our product contains 0 grams of fat."

Take a close look at the nutrition fact

Cultured drink contains high percentage of Vitamin C, 25% of daily value in each bottle.  Five bottles/pack can help you easily storage them.
Cultured dairy, aka fermented milk products, reduces the lactose (milk sugar) in the milk, transforming milk into a rich source of immune-building probiotics that is lower in naturally-occurring sugars and higher in Vitamins B and C

Cultured dairy generally makes it much more digestible by breaking down the casein (milk protein) that can be very troublesome for many
It also increases the enzymes in the milk (even pasteurized milk that is then cultured has a boost to its enzyme capacity), which helps to digest the components of the milk.

I will go ahead and enjoy my bottle of cultured dairy! Btw, all of the cultures work the best if you drink them 2 hrs after your meal. Do not drink them if you haven't had anything in your stomach because the acid in your stomach will kill these bacteria.

  5. My 3 year old loves them! He asks for it daily and if we don't have them he asks to go to Costco. This brand also doesn't include hydrolyzed corn syrup or other similar ingredients as some of its competitors.

  13. I had asked the store in Michigan and apparently this was a 'promo' Costco was running. They could not tell me if they were bringing the product back or not. I would like to see the product back so I put a request in their suggestion box. If others continue to make a request as well hopefully it will bring the product back.

    1. Just picked up a case tonight from our local Kirkland, WA Costco. It was in the case next to yogurt and large bottles of Naked.

    1. I have found that Costco will discontinue something in San Diego but continue it in Los Angeles. I think they recently discontinued some ice cream sandwiches we liked a lot. They started sampling them right before discontinuing to get rid of their stock but we hadn't tried them until we sampled them and would have continued buying. They discontinued some foccacia croutons we liked also - and then brought in a different garlic type that we don't like. They keep the standard stuff you can get anywhere though...like Ritz crackers or saltines.

  17. These are being sold at a San Diego area Costco and I have sampled them a few times and finally purchased because I had been on two wks of antibiotics. I think they are helping my digestion and even though it has sugar, the bottles are very small dose size and one per day seems to be working. I think the convenience it nice, but paying the CRV on each bottle...I don't know where I will get my 5 cents per bottle back. Regardless, I like it and would likely purchase again.

  19. Taste good, BUT VERY POOR packaging. Impossible to difficult to open top foil of each container. Not enough foil to grab at edges, the glue is too strong, no foil tab to trap, foil just shreds. Easiest to stab a knife 0n top, and squeeze the liquid in you mouth.
